The Olympics Are Here!
So one of my favorite things is going on right now, the Olympics!
Since the last winter Olympics in 2006, I have become a big, big fan of curling. Unfortunately, the US team isn’t exactly doing too hot right now. The skip, John Shuster, has been having what can only be referred to as “issues” throwing the rock. He missed 3 game winning shots in the first 4 games, so the US is 2-6 right now rather than 5-3 and in medal contention. Needless to say we’ve seen a lot of this face:
I still watch the games all the way through, I’m still thoroughly enjoying it, but it’d sure be a lot cooler if I wasn’t wanting to scream at the TV every time the US throws an important shot and I have little faith it’s going to land in a good place. As I’m writing this Shuster blew another shot. Wonderful.
On the good front, Shaun White absolutely DESTROYED the snowboard competition. He looked like a man among boys out there, winning by 10% over the field. Think about that. It’s like a sprinter in the 100m winning in 10 seconds and second place running an 11 second 100m. The difference between them was just incredible.
I’ll post some photo galleries of Hawaii in the next day or so. Promise (probably).
